Woman indicted by Lubbock federal grand jury for theft of funds

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Authorities say a federal grand jury has indicted a West Texas woman accused of stealing more than $237,000 from a non-profit center she used to run that works with children who have been abused or witnessed a violent crime.Debra Rucker Brown has been charged with taking the money from the Children's Advocacy Center of Tom Green County, Inc., in San Angelo during a 5-year period ending in 2010.The 51-year-old Brown was the center's executive director for more than 16 years.She was indicted Wednesday in Lubbock on six counts of theft.____(AP copy)
