Air conditioning that is turned up too high over the summer is increasingly triggering rows between office workers, according to a survey. Three-quarters of those questioned said the chilly atmosphere leads to arguments over what the ideal temperature should be. Nearly nine in ten moan their office is too cold and some even say the icy conditions make them less productive.
Almost half (47 per cent) believe air conditioning spreads illness, and nearly seven in ten (68 per cent) said they would prefer fresh air instead. But, proving that British workers are extremely difficult to please, 61 per cent of the 1,200 surveyed said being too hot at work was worse than being too cold.
